let's eat a "five and five"!

If you want to eat something  delicious in Livorno, you have to eat "torta",  the focaccia bread  made of chickpea flour, water and olive oil. It is diffused all over the Tuscan Coast and Liguria and it is known with different names (farinata, cecina). The "cinque and cinque", typical of Livorno, is made of bread, usually "schacciata" or "francesina" (to give you an idea a short piece of baguette). The name comes from the half of XX century when the you asked for five cents of torta and five cents of bread, cinque =five.  A delicious way to eat "cinque e cinque" is with slices of eggplant! And a good glass of "spuma", the frizzy drink from Livorno.
